borders. The Indian Navy also promotes bilateral relations between nations.
The Indian Air Force:- The Indian Air Force is the air arm of the Indian Armed
Forces and its primary objective is to secure Indian airspace and
conduct aerial warfare during armed conflict.
Amid massive protests across India,
the Indian Armed Forces (Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy)
announced a broad schedule for recruitment of soldiers under the Agnipath
Scheme.
What is the Agnipath Scheme?
Agnipath is a new scheme introduced
by the Govt. of India on June 14, 2022, for the recruitment of soldiers below
the rank of commissioned officers into the three services( Indian Army, Indian
Air Force, and Indian Navy) of the armed
forces. Soldiers recruited under this scheme will be recognized as Agniveers.
The recruits will serve for a tenure
of 4 years that includes training for six months followed by 3.5 years of
deployment. A quarter of the Agniveers will be chosen for the permanent cadre.
Personnel who retire after 4 years of service will not be eligible for a pension,
but will receive an amount of approximately 11.71 lakh at the end of their
tenure.
Who can apply to this scheme?
- Age Criteria:- Aspirants
between 17 and a half and 21 years of age are eligible for recruitment.
Following massive protests, the Defence Ministry said that it would allow
those who were 21 years old in 2020 to be eligible only for this year. The
upper age limit for the recruitment process for Agnipath scheme for
2022 is 23 years.
- Education Qualification:- Interested candidates should have a Class 10th or
matriculation passing certificate, an intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent
mark sheet, a 3 year Engineering
Diploma Final Year Mark sheet, and a Matriculation mark sheet or 2 years
of Vocational course mark sheets and mark sheets of non-vocational.
- Gender and Marital Status:- Both unmarried male and female candidates will be able to apply for the
Agnipath recruitment programme in the Indian Navy and Indian Army, but for
the Agnipath Air force recruitment process, only unmarried male candidates
are eligible.
